Samsung launched the Galaxy S6 in India just two months ago with the price tags starting at Rs 49,990. Now, the smartphone is available on e-commerce sites like Amazon, Snapdeal and Flipkart with a near Rs 10,000 discount, and is being sold for as low as Rs 40,000.
Samsung is known for reducing the prices of its flagships soon after their release, and the price of the Galaxy S6 32GB has not only reduced online but has also been slashed in offline stores. Retailer Croma is selling the Galaxy S6 32GB variant for Rs 41,900 in its Mumbai stores. On e-commerce sites, the Galaxy S6 32GB variant is being sold on Amazon India for Rs 40,885, on Flipkart for Rs 41,900, while Snapdeal is offering it for a flat Rs 40,000. Amazon is also selling the gold 64GB variant for Rs 49,800 – a discount of Rs 6,100.
The Galaxy S6 was launched in April with a price tag of Rs 49,900 for 32GB, Rs 55,900 for 64GB and Rs 61,900 for 128GB. To recap, the Galaxy S6 flaunts a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED QHD (2560×1440 pixels) display with a pixel density of 577ppi, and is powered by an Exynos 7420 octa-core (2.1GHz quad-core+1.5GHz quad-core) chipset paired with 3GB of RAM.
It also features a 16-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization, 5-megapixel camera up front, 2,550mAh battery with Ultra Power Saving Mode and wireless charging capabilities. Connectivity options include LTE support, NFC, IR Blaster, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, and on the software front, it runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop out-of-the-box, wrapped under an overhauled TouchWiz UI.
