According to our colleagues, the Galaxy S6 will flaunt a 5.1-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display with a pixel density of a whopping 577ppi. The display will have Gorilla Glass 4 protection similar to the Galaxy Note 4, and will also have “stunning outdoor visibility” and a “super dim mode for late night.” Also Read - Samsung Galaxy F42 Indian launch date could be Sep 29, hints Flipkart teaser
As for power, the flagship device will be powered by a 64-bit octa-core 14nm CPU, which is said to be 50 percent faster than last year’s flagship device. On the photography front, the smartphone will boast a 20-megapixel OIS camera sensor, and a 5-megapixel f/1.8 selfie camera. The rest of the specifications include 32/64/128GB internal storage, 2,550mAh battery with fast charging mode and wireless charging capabilities, NFC payments, Samsung Pay, which is similar to Apple Pay launched last year, and Cat 6 LTE support. As for design, gone are the plastic materials, and the flagship device will instead boast a metal and glass body.
Much of the above specifications are in line with previous leaks, and do make the forthcoming flagship device seem like a monster of a device. Our colleagues have also got photos of the smartphone, but were not allowed to publish them.
Samsung is also widely believed to be launching a variant of the Galaxy S6 with a curved display, similar to the Galaxy Note Edge. The display is likely to be curved on both sides, and will enable it to show notifications and information from Yahoo! News and Samsung apps. As we have reported before, the South Korean giant has sent out invites for a March 2 event at MWC in Barcelona where it will unveil the Galaxy S6.
