Samsung Galaxy S6 and the HTC One (M9) have been creating the most amount of buzz as we inch closer to MWC, and it won’t be surprising if they become the showstoppers. Both the phones have been subjected to several rounds of leaks and rumors as it happens with flagships every year. Although the accuracy of the details is not rock solid, they give us a fair idea of what the final product will be all about. Display is one of the quintessential aspects of the flagships as it also turns out to be a major deciding factor for many. While both the smartphones are expected to flaunt 5-inch displays, Samsung’s flagship is rumored to boast QHD (2560×1440 pixels) resolution with a density of 587ppi, while the One (M9) is rumored to feature a full HD (1920×1080 pixels) resolution.
Processor and RAM
Courtesy of various leaks, the Galaxy S6 is believed to be coming with an Exynos 7420 octa-core (quad-core 1.3GHz Cortex A53 + quad-core 1.9GHz Cortex A-57) processor. The One (M9), on the other hand, is said to be powered by a Snapdragon 810 octa-core (1.5GHz Cortex-A53 quad-core + 2GHz Cortex A57 quad-core). Both the processors will be paired with 3GB of RAM respectively.
Samsung and HTC are expected to offer 32GB internal storage each, along with an option to expand it using a microSD card.
From what we have heard so far, the Galaxy S6 is likely to feature a 20-megapixel rear camera accompanied by a 5-megapixel selfie camera at the front. The One (M9), on the other hand, is expected to feature a 20.7-megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash, accompanied by a 4-Ultrapixel selfie camera.
On the software front, both the flagships are expected to run on Android Lollipop out-of-the-box wrapped under their respective UIs. So in essence, the OS on the Galaxy S6 will be wrapped under TouchWiz UI, and the OS on the One (M9) will be wrapped under Sense 7 UI. Samsung is said to have made many changes to its UI and done away with most of the bloatware. The Galaxy S6 will also debut with an array of Microsoft applications including Office 365.
