Just yesterday, a leaked presentation slide of Samsung‘s Galaxy S8 Active revealed its full set of specifications, along with a set of some blurry images of the smartphone, which weren t clear enough to determine its design. However, some hours after this leak, a close-up and clearer image of the alleged Galaxy S8 Active has been spotted online, which shows the same design as seen before. The smartphone has so far been approved by the FCC in the US and the Wi-Fi Alliance. Its launch is expected to be around the corner. The Galaxy S8 Active s image was shared on Twitter by popular leakster Evan Blass and it shows the side and front view of the smartphone. Going by the image, the Galaxy S8 Active does portray the rumor of it being a rugged version of the original Galaxy S8. The Galaxy S8 Active is slightly thicker as it comes with a protective layer on the sides, which makes it a rugged device. The design remains the same otherwise with the Bixby button placed on the right. The left side is however not visible. Just like the flagship, the Galaxy S8 Active does not feature a Home button, meaning that it will house a rear fingerprint sensor.
According to the leaked details, the Galaxy S8 Active will feature a 5.8-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display with 18.5: aspect ratio and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It will most likely be powered by Qualcomm s Snapdragon 835 SoC paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage. In the photography department, the Galaxy S8 Active could feature a 12-megapixel rear camera with dual-pixel phase-detection autofocus, OIS, f/1.7 aperture, and 4K video recording. Up front, the smartphone is expected to house an 8-megapixel camera with autofocus, f/1.7 aperture, and QHD video recording. On the software front, the smartphone will possibly run Android 7.0 Nougat. A 4,000mAh battery is expected be on board. Its connectivity options could include Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi, NFC, GPS and GLONASS. The Galaxy S8 Active will possibly come with IP68 certification for dust and water resistance considering it will be a rugged smartphone.
