Samsung is all set to unveil the heavily rumored and anticipated flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+, tomorrow. The smartphones have been leaked and rumored up to such an extent that there isn t much left to do but to just officially launch them. But even as we are a day away from the official launch, we are still treated with some leaked images of the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+. First up are images from German website Winfuture that appear to be marketing renders of the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ and a few details on its specifications. The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ are both seen sporting the blue color with the same design language as predicted and again confirming the absence of the Home button and the placing of the fingerprint sensor on the back. An image of a woman using the iris scanner of the Galaxy S8 is also shown. In addition to this image, the report states that the iris scanner on the Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+ will be ultra-sensitive and can be used to protect folders for an increased level of security.
The marketing renders of the Galaxy S8 feature the smartphone in silver color. The display is shown against the backdrop of an ice-covered slope and the smartphone acts as a see through glass for the two backpackers in front. The second marketing render shows the smarphone s back with focus on the rear camera lens and the fingerprint scanner. No surprise here as well.
The second set of leaks appears to be live images of the Galaxy S8+ shared by Androidmx. The live images show the camera of the Galaxy S8+ in action with the results being impressive as expected. The selfie camera icon is located on the top left of the display, along with the HDR option, flash and settings icons. The capture icon, recording icon is placed down below along with the edit option. There are other icons as well whose functions are currently unknown. Moving on, the remaining two images also concentrate on the 6.2-inch QHD display of the Galaxy S8+. The smartphone in one of the images is set against bright sunshine but the brightness appears to remain intact.
Samsung Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+ specifications
The Galaxy S8 is expected to feature a 5.8-inch QHD display, while the Galaxy S8+ will come with a 6.2-inch QHD display. In addition to this, both the smartphones are expected to have an aspect ratio of 18.5:9. In terms of hardware, the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ will be powered by Qualcomm s Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor and Samsung s in-house Exynos 8895 octa-core processor depending on the region. Samsung is manufacturing both the chipsets using 10nm fabrication process. The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ are rumored to come with 4GB of RAM and 64GB onboard storage with expansion options of up to 256GB.
In the photography department, the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ have been rumored to feature Sony IMX333 sensors. The smartphones will be equipped to shoot super slow-motion videos at 1,000fps as seen in the recently launched Xperia XZ Premium. Up front, both the flagships could sport an 8-megapixel selfie camera with autofocus and optical image stabilization. For power, the Galaxy S8 will most likely be powered by a 3,000mAh battery, while the Galaxy S8+ will come with a larger 3,500mAh battery. The smartphones could come with fast charging technology and wireless fast charging facility as well.
On the software front, the flagships will most likely run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box with TouchWiz UI layered on top. For connectivity, the smartphones will come with dual-SIM card support, 4G LTE with VoLTE support, Bluetooth, GPS and USB Type-C port.
