Leaks and rumors about Samsung s next-gen Galaxy smartphones have continued to gain pace. Right from leaked designs and schematics to features like iris scanner for biometric authentication, we ve come across a bunch of leaks in the past few months. These leaks have also given us a fair idea of what to expect from Samsung s next flagship smartphones. Now, alleged live images of the Galaxy S8 duo- the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ have been spotted online. The live images, first spotted by Androidheadlines, show off the front panel of the two smartphones. Evidently, the difference can be spotted in their screen size and color. While the smaller Galaxy S8 is seen in white color, a golden color variant of the Galaxy S8+ is also seen. It is expected that the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ will come in three color choices, black, silver and violet.
The Galaxy S8 shows off its home screen where you can spot the on-screen buttons which will either help users to return to home and back buttons. On the other hand, the Galaxy S8 Plus features a lock screen along with the phone and camera shortcut icons placed in its left and right corner respectively. The two smartphones have really thin bezels and both the smartphones have curved display on the sides as well.
The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+will ship with a power button placed on the right had side and volume button and Bixby AI keys placed on the left side of the smartphone. Another leak spotted on Weibo via Slashleaks gives us a closer look at the smaller Galaxy S8 in gold color.
To put things in perspective, the smaller Galaxy S8 is expected to feature a 5.8-inch display while the Galaxy S8+ is likely to come with a 6.2-inch display. For the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+, the company plans on using Super AMOLED displays with narrow bezels. Under the hood, the smartphones will be powered by the newest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset, making them the first set of smartphones to run the processor. The new processor also promises 27 percent more performance with 40 percent less power consumption. Also on offer will be 4GB of RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage.
In the photography department, the smartphones will come with 12-megapixel dual-Pixel rear camera with LED flash will be placed at the rear while upfront, there will be an 8-megapixel auto-focus selfie camera. Rumors suggests that the Galaxy S8 will be armed with a 3,250mAh battery. Both the models will run Android 7.1 Nougat out-of-the-box with TouchWiz layered on top. Previous leaked renders have suggested that the smartphone will retain 3.5mm audio jack along with USB Type-C support for fast charging.
Apart from this Samsung s digital assistance Bixby will also be making its debut to compete. The feature will allow users to conduct virtual searches through built-in optical character recognition, capable of recognizing text, images and identify objects when the camera is pointed at them. Samsung will be hosting its Unpacked event on March 29 when it will be officially taking the wraps off its new Galaxy smartphones. From what we know so far, the Galaxy S8 could retail in European markets at 799 Euros which is approximately Rs 57,000, while the Galaxy S8+ will sell for 899 Euros which is approximately Rs 63,400. However, these are just rumors and we suggest you to take this piece if information with a pinch of salt. The pre-orders for the new Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ is expected to start from April 10 with first global shipments beginning April 21.
