After launching the 2018 flagship smartphones in India, the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+, Samsung has now launched another smartphone in the country. No, it is not a new smartphone, but a limited-edition Burgundy Red color variant of the Galaxy S8, which was last year s best-selling smartphone.

The Burgundy Red edition of Galaxy S8 will wow consumers and allow them to express their own personal style, Aditya Babbar, General Manager, Samsung India, said in a press release.
The new limited-edition color variant of the Galaxy S8 is priced at Rs 49,990. Buyers can also take advantage of Rs 10,000 Paytm cashback offer at leading retail stores, which will further bring down the cost to Rs 39,990. Besides the discount, attractive EMI offers on credit cards are also available. The new color variant will be available to purchase starting April 13.

The Galaxy S8 flaunts a 5.8-inch Super AMOLED dual curved edge display with QHD resolution and 586ppi. It is covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. At the heart of the Galaxy S8 runs Samsung s Exynos 8890 octa-core SoC, paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB onboard storage, which can be expanded up to 256GB using a microSD card (hybrid slot).
In the photography department, the Galaxy S8 comes with an 8-megapixel smart auto-focus front camera, and a 12-megapixel dual-pixel rear camera with f/1.7 aperture. The camera supports 4K video recording at 60fps, and slow motion video recording at 240fps in HD (720p) resolution.
Armed with a 3,000mAh battery, the smartphone supports fast charging and wireless fast charging capabilities. Connectivity options on the smartphones include dual-SIM card slots, 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, and GPS. The smartphone also comes with an Iris scanner and fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication, and IP68 certification for water and dust resistance capabilities. On the software front, the Galaxy S8 was released with Android 7.0 Nougat OS, and an update for Android 8.0 Oreo is also available.
