With the Galaxy Note 9 taking its place as the new flagship device, it s only expected that some of the older Samsung devices will be lining up for some discounts. The news was first reported by a Mumbai-based retailer, Mahesh Telecom, who tweeted about the price cut. However, currently the discount only seems to be reflecting at offline stores. At the time of writing this story, the smartphone is still being offered at Rs 51,990 on Samsung online store, and Rs 45,999 on Amazon India. That is expected to change soon, as the retailer has had a good track record of reporting price cuts in the past. Samsung Galaxy S8+ specifications and features
To recall, the Samsung Galaxy S8+ features a 6.2-inch Super AMOLED display with QHD resolution of (1440×2960 pixels), and 18.5:9 aspect ratio. The Infinity Display features dual curve edges and comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Added to that, the smartphone also carries an ingress rating of IP68, which makes it both dust and water resistant.
Under its hood is an Exynos 8895 octa-core SoC, tagged alongside 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. There is also a higher-end variant that comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The storage is further expandable to 256GB via a microSD card.

In the camera department, the smartphone features a 12-megapixel dual-pixel sensor at the back with f/1.7 aperture. Up front, it sports an 8-megapixel camera for taking selfies. Connectivity options include, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, GPS, Dual-SIM, 4G VoLTE, Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The smartphone is backed by a 3,000mAh battery, and runs Android 8.1 Oreo with Samsung Experience UI on top.
