As Samsung s Galaxy S8 inches towards its official launch, details about the anticipated smartphone continue to trickle and the latest to do the rounds is its 3C approval in China. The product certification in China is for the Galaxy S8 with model number SM-G9500. The listing does not mention the larger Galaxy S8+ model. However, last week, both the models have received FCC certification for the Chinese variants. Based on that, the Galaxy S8+ will carry a model number SM-G9550. Although the 3C certification does not reveal anything about the features of the Galaxy S8, but there have been enough image and specification leaks of the smartphone which have given enthusiasts a fair idea by now about how the final flagship smartphone will look and perform like. While Samsung was reeling under the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco last year, the rumor mill was in full gear and revealed almost everything about the Galaxy S8 smartphone. The upcoming flagship smartphone is expected to turn the fortune around for the South Korea-based manufacturer after the battery combustion issues with one of its most expensive phablets brought the company global infamy. Samsung Galaxy S8-3C certification

The latest certification for the Galaxy S8 precedes the formal launch of the smartphone on March 29. Although thanks to the series of leaks and revelations, all the details are already in public domain about the next Samsung Galaxy smartphone. What remains to be seen is how the company prices the smartphone. To put into perspective, the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge were priced in the sub-Rs 60,000. Given that this year Samsung will be incorporating its iconic spilling edge design in both the variants and will also be introducing subtle design changes, the Galaxy S8 line up will be pricier than the predecessor, with prices starting at $799 (approximately Rs 53,000). It is also believed that Samsung might do away with its now infamous Note line up and instead bring the phablet-like display size to its other premium smartphone range, thereby taking the prices up for the new smartphones.

To put into perspective, the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ will feature Super AMOLED narrow bezel spilling display design. The Galaxy S8 will boast a 5.8-inch display while the Galaxy S8+ will feature a 6.2-inch display. Under the hood, it will come powered by the newest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset, making them the first set of smartphones to run the advanced processor. The chipset could vary depending on the region it is launched in. Samsung could incorporate its own Exynos 8895 SoC. The processor will come paired with 4GB of RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage. ALSO READ: Samsung Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+ to come with facial recognition: Report

For photography, there will be a 12-megapixel dual-Pixel rear camera with LED flash while upfront, there will be an 8-megapixel auto-focus selfie camera. Both the models will run Android 7.1 Nougat out-of-the-box with TouchWiz layered above.

It is expected that the Galaxy S8 will be fuelled by a 3,000mAh battery while the Galaxy S8+ will house a bigger 3,500mAh battery with fast charging and wireless charging support. Other features include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2 LE, GPS with GLONASS, USB 2.0 and NFC connectivity options.

Despite being a Type-C based smartphone, the Galaxy S8 will continue to feature the standard 3.5mm headphone jack. Furthermore, there will be an iris scanner in addition to the repositioned fingerprint sensor. Both the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ will come with IP68 certification for better water and dust resistance feature. ALSO READ: Samsung Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+ prices leaked ahead of March 29 launch
