After the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ were formally launched in India two weeks ago, the devices have now gone on sale. While the Galaxy S9+ 256GB variant was still unavailable, it is now available to purchase from Reliance Digital, Jio stores and jio.com. The other models of the new Galaxy S9 duo are also available at the stores.
The exclusive availability is coupled with a 70 percent future buyback at the Reliance Digital stores. The stores are currently offering up to Rs 6,000 cashback. Additionally, when purchasing via Reliance Digital, customers would also find up to 12 months EMI on the Samsung S9+ 256GB.
However, let us lay down the fineprint to the buyback offer. In order to avail the 70 percent buyback, consumers need to have a Jio connection and do a cumulative recharge of minimum Rs 2,500 within 12 months from any of the available Jio plans.
Users can also opt for an exclusive Jio offer on Galaxy S9, Galaxy S9+, wherein Jio users get an exclusive offer of 1TB of 4G data along with unlimited voice & SMS for one year worth Rs 15,000 at only Rs 4,999. Additionally, the users are entitled to complimentary Jio Prime Membership as a part of this plan offer.
The Samsung Galaxy S9+ 256GB variant is priced at Rs 72,900. It flaunts a 6.2-inch Quad HD+ Super AMOLED display with taller 18:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by Exynos 9810 SoC based on new 10nm process, which should lead to at least 15 percent improvement in raw performance and 30 percent improvement in graphics performance. The system on chip is accompanied with 6GB of RAM and it comes in a 64GB and a 256GB variant.
With photography being the highlight of the Galaxy S9+, it sports a pair of 12-megapixel primary sensors, one of which has the ability to switch from wide f/1.5 to narrower f/2.4 aperture. The image sensor also includes a DRAM for capturing 960fps super slow-mo videos at HD resolution. The other is a 12-megapixel sensor with telephoto lens for 2x optical zoom.
