Samsung might be getting the Android 9 Pie update ready for its Galaxy S9 smartphones, if a leaked benchmark listing is to be believed. Spotted by Sammobile, a GFXBench listing proves that Samsung may have started testing the update for Galaxy S9 smartphone internally. The alleged GFXBench listing reveals a Samsung smartphone with Exynos 9810 being tested on Android 9 Pie. It’s been speculated as internal testing for the Galaxy S9 Android 9 Pie update, although the listing mentions this model as Invalid Android Samsung ss Edition”. Like previous years, Samsung is expected to release the latest Android 9.0 Pie firmware update to its Galaxy S9 lineup first. Having said that, there is no concrete information on this update rumor, because Samsung hasn t even confirmed anything about the Android 9 Pie update roadmap as yet when most major smartphone players have already confirmed.
The update might not come soon, as Samsung is still rolling Android 8.0 Oreo update for many of its Galaxy devices. Just recently, Android 8.1 Oreo update starting for Samsung Galaxy J5 (2017) smartphones in Poland. After the update, Galaxy J5 (2017) became first Samsung smartphone to get the Android 8.1 Oreo-based update in the same market. The update is reportedly rolling out in a phased manner, which means that it is likely that it may not appear on your Samsung Galaxy J5 (2017) right away.

The Android 8.1 Oreo update update came last week, just weeks after the company rolled out Android 8.0 Oreo update for Samsung Galaxy J3 (2017) in Poland. For Android 9.0 Pie, Samsung is first expected to launch a Beta program for a couple of months at least, so expecting it any time soon would be high ambition for the users.
