Samsung customers had their hopes buoyed up a while ago when rumors that Samsung might just bring a smaller version of its flagship S9 to the market. And when last week a dual camera S9 like device showed up on Geekbench listing, people were positive about the prospect of a S9-Mini. The model that made its way to Geekbench listing had a generic name of SM-G8750.
But if recent rumors are to be believed, the new device will not be a Samsung Galaxy S9 Mini. And a new listing on Launch Studio suggests that the name of the device will be Dream-Lite. This discounts the fact that the device will be a part of the flagship S lineup from Samsung, at least the one that was listed on Launch Studio. A previous report from TENAA talked about the SM-G8850 which is different from the present version leaked.
But the present SM-G8750 comes with a “CN China” Bluetooth certification which seems t make this phone a China exclusive. AnTuTu and Geekbench agree on the possibility that the new phone will feature a Snapdragon 660 instead of the previously supposed 845.
Besides that the screen size of the device was previously expected to be QHD+, but now it seems that a 1080 x 2220 pixel resolution is expected. The other specs of the phone that can be expected are 4 GB RAM, 64 GB storage and Android 8.0 Oreo. This makes combination of specs may not pit it as a Galaxy S9, but it would still make a great phone.
