Another day, another leak, and we have some more information on Samsung’s 2018 flagship smartphone. No doubt, the Galaxy S9-duo are the most highly-anticipated smartphones of the year, and Samsung has already sent out invites for the launch event on February 25, at MWC 2018 in Barcelona. Now, a new leak reveals the pricing of the Galaxy S9, along with the release date.

The Galaxy S7 won rave reviews from the critics and users for its design, camera and performance, and it was priced under the Rs 50,000 bracket. With the Galaxy S8, Samsung introduced the infinity display, better cameras and iris scanner among others, and the price also broke the earlier barrier, with retail price of Rs 58,000. The new Galaxy S9 is expected to bring in nifty improvements along with a variable aperture f/1.5 – f/2.4 camera. And with these additions, the pricing is also expected to inch higher.

According to ETNews, the Galaxy S9 could retail between 950,000 to 999,000 won in Korea, which roughly translates between Rs 56,500 to Rs 59,000. After import duties and taxes, the price could be close to, or break the Rs 60,000 barrier in India. While this isn’t a major price hike, it is still a noteworthy increase nonetheless. And talking about the release date, the Galaxy S9 may go on sale starting March 16.

However, there is no word on the pricing of the elder sibling, the Galaxy S9+. But considering that it is expected to come with a dual-camera setup, 6GB of RAM and 256GB onboard storage, the pricing in India can very well be close to Rs 70,000.

The Galaxy S9+ is expected to come with support for 3D stickers, and may also let you adjust their depth. Tag Shot is another rumored feature that could let you tag photos with weather information and location. Both smartphones may also be able to record slow-motion videos in full-HD resolution, with a frame rate of 480fps. We expect Samsung to extensively talk about the camera features of both smartphones at the launch event on February 25. Till then, stay tuned.
