Sadly some users face issues with even the most perfect of products. It appears like Samsung’s Galaxy S9 lineup is one of those products. Some users are reporting touch screen related issues with the latest flagship smartphones.
According to a report on SlashGear, owners of the new smartphones are complaining of random, inexplicable dead zones on the screen. The cause is unknown and the dead zones are appearing differently for different users. For some it is appearing on the top, while for others it is near the bottom of the screen.
Separately, users are also complaining that the device fails to register the touch input. On a forum on Android Central, users are attributing the touch input-related issue to misplaced screen protector, while some are saying, it is due to a bug with the proximity sensor.
The issue is seen impacting the Galaxy S9+ more than the Galaxy S9. The problem is even more frustrating if the dead zone happen on keys on the virtual keyboard. Some have highlighted that these spots coincide with ‘E’, ‘R’, and ‘T’ letters on the Gboard.
In such a hardware-related case, it is advisable to send the device for an in-warranty replacement. However, it appears the replacements are also marred with the same problems.
This is not the first issue marring the user experience of Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ users. The flagship smartphones have been facing a number of issues including an error related to Samsung Pay and camera.
Earlier this week, it was reported that the sales of the Galaxy S9 is underwhelming, especially in home country South Korea. The sales are said to have been impacted due to lack of any significant new feature over the previous generation model. Another reason for the disappointing sales could be attributed to the lack of major design changes over its predecessor.
