Earlier this month, a Samsung tablet called Galaxy Tab A2 was certified by FCC, which was soon followed by leaked live images. And now, specifications of yet another Galaxy tablet have surfaced. It is widely expected that the tablet here in question, Galaxy Tab A2 XL, will go official on August 9, along with the Galaxy Note 9.

SamMobile have got their hands on the firmware of the alleged tablet, which is expected to be a mid-range tablet. It is likely to get a dedicated Bixby button as well. The leaked photos reveal a full HD+ display with 16:10 aspect ratio, which will be different compared to the Galaxy Tab A that comes with a 4:3 aspect ratio. Also, there is no physical home button or capacitive keys, which means the Android navigation keys will be on-display ones.

The leak reveals a 10.5-inch display running at a resolution of 1920×1200 pixels. At the heart of the tablet could run a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC with an octa-core CPU, paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB storage. This is a good upgrade compared to the current Galaxy Tab A (2017) that comes with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage.

Users will also get an upgrade in terms of the camera. An 8-megapixel rear sensor and a 5-megapixel front camera are likely to be in tow. To keep things ticking, a 7,300mAh battery with fast charging feature via microUSB port is expected. On the software front, it is likely to run Android 8.1 Oreo OS, and may be upgraded to Android P over the next few months.

On the connectivity side, the tablet could be offered in two fflavors– Wi-Fi-only and Wi-Fi + LTE, with model numbers SM-T590 and SM-T595, respectively. There is no word on the pricing and availability of the same, but we expect to hear more as the launch draws closer.
