While the announcement of the Galaxy S8 has been moved to later, Samsung is scheduled to launch its tablet, the Galaxy Tab S3, at the MWC 2017 event in Barcelona. While the tablet looks almost exactly like its predecessor Galaxy Tab S2, there is one notable novelty that comes with the Tab S3, which is the S Pen stylus. Although, the anticipated design of the Galaxy Tab S3 does not cater for a stylus cradle, which could possible mean that the S Pen stylus may be offered as a separate accessory with the tablet, at an additional cost. In the past, we have seen leaks and rumors surrounding the purported tablet. If they are to be believed, the Galaxy Tab S3 could feature a 9.6-inch AMOLED display offering 2048×1536 pixels resolution and 4:3 aspect ratio. With spilling edges and a large size, this might actually make for an exceptional viewing experience.
Under the hood, the Galaxy Tab S3 is likely to have Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor paired with 4GB of RAM and 32GB/128GB internal storage. Some reports indicate that it could come powered by a Snapdragon 652 chipset with Adreno 510 GPU. The tablet is further speculated to come with a 12-megapixel rear camera along with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for video-calling. It is expected to run the latest Android 7.1 Nougat out-of-the-box.
In terms of connectivity, the tablet is expected to be a Type-C-based device, offer WiFi and Bluetooth support, and also come with a fingerprint sensor embedded in the front home button. It is rumored to be fuelled by a 5,870mAh battery. An LTE+Wi-Fi variant is also expected.
Samsung recently sent out media invites for its upcoming MWC 2017 conference showing just a teaser silhouette of what appears to be the tablet in question. Two weeks ago, the Tab S3 had been spotted on the FCC certification website, indicating that an official launch is inevitable.
Besides the Tab S3, recently the older model, the Galaxy Tab S2, which was launched in 2015, was also in news. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 was spotted on Geekbench benchmarking website running the new Android Nougat 7.0 operating system. This indicates that Samsung may soon rollout the Nougat update for the device.
