Samsung has launched the Galaxy Tab S4, its flagship Android convertible tablet in India. The tablet was first introduced alongside the Galaxy Note 9 in August and is now being launched in the country. The Galaxy Tab S4 is being pitched as productivity tablet unlike in the past, where Samsung’s tablets have been advertised as entertainment and consumption device.
The Galaxy Tab S4 is billed as Apple iPad Pro competitor and Samsung has added new features like support for S Pen, facial recognition and DEX to make the device attractive for business users. It also features a polished design compared to its predecessor, which was very well built in the first place.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 India Price and Availability
In India, the Galaxy Tab S4 is priced at Rs 57,900 and will be available for purchase starting today. The tablet is being offered in black and grey colors and customers can purchase the device online from Samsung Shop and other leading offline retail channels. It will also be available from Amazon India starting October 20, 2018.
With the purchase of Galaxy Tab S4, HDFC Bank Credit card users can avail Rs 5,000 cashback and EMI on HDFC Bank Debit cards and consumer durable loans. Reliance Jio users are entitled for an instant cashback of Rs 2,750 on recharge of Rs 198 or Rs 299 plan. The plan also offers double data benefits on every recharge for the next four recharges.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S4: Specifications and Features
The Galaxy Tab S4 features a 10.5-inch WQXGA Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 2560 x 160 pixels and 16:10 aspect ratio. The display has a pixel density of 287ppi and supports touch input with S Pen, which has pressure levels of 4096 and tip diameter of 0.7mm.
The new productivity-centric tablet measures 249.3 x 164.3 x 7.1mm in dimensions and the WiFi only model weighs 482 grams while the LTE version weighs 483 grams. The S Pen, on the other hand, measures 138 x 9.2mm in dimensions and weighs 9.1 grams. The tablet is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835, the last year’s flagship mobile processor with octa-core configuration supporting four performance cores and four efficiency cores. It comes with 4GB of RAM and option for either 64GB or 256GB expandable storage.
There is a 13-megapixel main camera with f/1.9 aperture, 76-degree field of view and support for 4K video recording at 30 frames per second. At the front, there is an 8-megapixel shooter with f/1.9 aperture and 85-degree field of view. In terms of connectivity, it supports WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0 while the LTE version adds wireless mobile connection as well.
The Galaxy Tab S4 runs Android Oreo and is backed by a 7,300mAh battery. It supports fast charging and Samsung claims up to 16 hours of battery life on continuous video playback. There are four speakers in total, two at the top and two at the bottom. The speakers are tuned by AKG and support Dolby Atmos for surround sound effect.
The Galaxy Tab S4 also supports DEX without the need for a dock and simply by connecting an HDMI adapter. While the Galaxy Tab S4 is dubbed as PC replacement, the tablet does not come bundled with accessories to turn into one out of the box. Customers will have to buy Keyboard Book Cover separately for Rs 7,499, which adds a physical keyboard and acts as protective cover. There is Book Cover which acts as case for the tablet priced at Rs 3,999 and POGO charging Dock is priced at Rs 3,499.
