Samsung is reportedly working on the Galaxy Tab S3 successor, the Galaxy Tab S4, and it was recently spotted on benchmarking website revealing some of its key specifications. Now, another leak from China has revealed that the tablet will come with support for DeX pad accessory, and will also feature an iris scanner for biometric authentication.
The Galaxy Tab S4 is not the first tablet to come with an iris scanner. Back in 2016, Samsung had launched the Galaxy Tab Iris that featured an iris scanner, and was Aadhaar compliant as well. The Galaxy Tab S4 with DeX support will enable users to connect the tablet to a monitor, mouse and keyboard to transform into a workstation.
SamMobile also spotted a leaked image of the alleged tablet on Weibo revealing that it will run Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box, with Samsung Experience version 9.5. Talking about specifications, the tablet is expected to feature a 10.5-inch QHD display running at a resolution of 2560x1600pixels with an aspect ratio of 8:5. Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC, the tablet is also expected to feature 4GB of RAM.

There is no word on the battery capacity and onboard storage, but we wouldn’t be surprised to see the base variant with 64GB storage. The Galaxy Tab S4 is also expected to come with a 12-megapixel rear snapper with LED flash and an 8-megapixel front camera.
Reports hint that Samsung is already planning to introduce the Galaxy Note 9 on August 9 in New York, along with the Gear S4 smartwatch. It is highly unlikely that Samsung will introduce the Tab S4 at that event. Instead, it may take the wraps off the smartphone at IFA 2018 in Berlin, Germany.
