At the ongoing Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 edge launch event, Samsung has also announced plans to launch the Gear 360 video camera in India. The Gear 360 camera was unveiled at MWC 2016 in Barcelona last month, and Samsung says the focus is on redefining how we record videos and share them on social media.
The Gear 360 essentially looks like a human eyeball, and it features two 15-megapixel f/2.0 cameras on opposite sides with super-wide angle lenses. The camera supports videos up to 4K resolution, and users can either opt to record 360 degrees videos using the two camera lenses simultaneously, or a 180 degree video using one lens. As for still photos, one lens can be used to click photos at 5-megapixels or both lenses can be used to capture photos at 30-megapixels.
Samsung’s Gear 360 also features 1GB of RAM, microSD card slot with support for up to 128GB, a 1,350mAh battery and connectivity options like Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth, NFC and Wi-Fi Direct. The Gear 360 is also IP53-certified, making it resistant to water and dust.
There’s no word on an exact launch date, or the pricing of the video camera.
