Last month, we came across a series of leaked photos that offered a glimpse at Samsung s upcoming Gear Fit 2 fitness tracker and the first truly wireless headphones, the Gear IconX. Now, official photos of both products were spotted on Samsung s S Health website. While the photos reveal their design, the website doesn t list their specifications. Also, the images no longer online as the webpage seem to have been taken down, the Verge reports.
From what we can see in the photos, the Gear Fit 2 fitness tracker is likely to come with a new textured strap. In terms of design, the Gear Fit 2 still looks like the original Gear Fit that was launched back in 2014. It is likely to flaunt a 1.84-inch Super AMOLED curved display and come integrated with a GPS chipset onboard, which was missing from the previous model.
Other features expected on the Gear Fit 2 include IPXX certification for water and dust proofing and a heart rate sensor. While the original Gear Fit ran on a custom OS developed by Samsung, the new one is likely to run on Tizen OS. While details about launch data and availability are unknown, the next-gen fitness tracker is rumoured to be priced at $200, which translates to Rs 13,200 approximately.
The Gear IconX, on the other hand, are truly wireless headphones, without any wires connecting the two buds. An earlier leak hinted that the Gear IconX will come with 4GB of built-in storage, which means they could work as standalone music player or as Bluetooth headphones. These earbuds will come with special case for charging, will include tough music controls and also likely to be splash resistant.
With Samsung due to announce the Galaxy Note 6 in the coming months, the Gear IconX and Gear Fit 2 might become official at the same time.
