Samsung’s Gear Sport smartwatch is receiving an improvement update for the battery charging algorithm. The update brings software version R600XXU1ARG1 to Gear Sport, however, the Tizen version remains at 220.127.116.11, as reported by Sammobile. The Tizen improvement update for the Samsung Gear Sport smartwatch comes with a changelog similar to the recent Samsung Gear S3 update. As noted in the update, it improves stability by making changes to the battery charging algorithm and also improves device security. The update is mere 15.92MB in size. You can check for the update in Samsung Gear app s settings menu on your connected phone. The option would be available in the Settings tab under the About Gear section. Here users will have to click on Update Gear.
Last month, Samsung had released the Tizen 3.0 update for the Gear S3 to fix battery performance, since some Gear S3 users were complaining about battery not being able to charge up to 100 percent in one go. Even more, after up to 90 percent charging it would display an overheating warning. The update was provided for both the Samsung Gear S3 Frontier and the Gear S3 Classic. It carried build numbers of R760XXU2CRG3 and R770XXU2CRG3 respectively. Both updates were 16MB in size.

While the Gear Sport didn’t have any such battery heating issue, but this new update is likely to bring charging improvements as per changelog.
