5G, the upcoming generation of broadband cellular network technology which really combines a number of new mobile technology is expected to be the next big thing. The technology is likely to change how we connect with each other and perceive cellular connectivity. Almost all the companies that have an impact on telecommunication experience from smartphone manufacturers to component makers including SoC makers and telecommunication equipment maker have been working on 5G-capable hardware while some in the testing phase where they are testing their devices on existing 5G test infrastructure. According to a recent report, global smartphone leader Samsung is also looking at 5G while making plans to ensure that it stays ahead of the curve.

According to a recent report by South Korean website The Bell, the company is planning to launch 5G-capable Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus. The report noted that the regular Galaxy S10 will not come with 5G-capable hardware. It is likely that the company will launch the regular version of the Galaxy S10 Plus and a 5G-capable version of the S10 Plus along with it. It also stated that Samsung will now launch a small number of 5G-capable devices next year as the network technology is still in its early stages. Samsung seems to have given each type of device a code name with “Beyond 0” as the “entry-level model” what is likely to be introduced in the S10 lineup. “Beyond 1” will be the regular version of the Samsung Galaxy S10 and “Beyond 2” is the code name given to the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus. According to the report, Samsung is likely to add two cameras o the front of the device and three cameras on the back along with a 6.44-inch screen in the Galaxy S10 Plus.

It is likely that the 5G version will be more expensive in pricing because of the increased number of antennas in the device. The report also indicated that the company will launch the 5G variant of the device after the regular launch to match the timing of the launch of 5G in South Korea. It also indicated that the company may reveal the lineup during CES 2019 but we got similar rumors about previous S series launches without nothing really panning out.
