The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 seems to have waded into some muddy waters. Some users have started noticing that their units leak light from the edge of the Infinity Display. The latest Samsung flagship phablet, which launched earlier this month, comes with the trademark curved Samsung display that meets the aluminum frame after a curve. And some users have started noticing a line of bright light ‘leaking’ from the left hand side of the screen where it meets the frame.

Android Police reports that the issue was also seen on their own review unit, and found out that quite a few users have been facing a similar issue. For now all the cases that have been noticed exhibit the issue on the left side of the units, and in some cases it is not visible all the time.

The report however adds that this light leak does not impact or impair the experience or usability of the device. But according to one of their writers David Ruddock, “You can’t un-see it.” That being said, not all units have this issue and out own review unit seems perfectly fine. We assume that this could be due to internal reflections and some gap in the left edge of the display and the frame, which may have been because of some manufacturing defect on some units.

Samsung is reportedly looking into this issue, and is yet to make any official statement. And according to reports, similar issues have been noticed on Samsung flagship phones on as far back as the Galaxy S6.
