The Samsung Omnia M is now available with online retailer Saholic for Rs 15,900. The device was previously announced way back in May and is Samsung’s second Windows Phone 7.5 smartphone to be launched in India. Also Read - Samsung launches the Omnia M Windows Phone
Like the Nokia Lumia 610, the Omnia M makes use of the lowered system specifications of Windows Phone Tango, but Samsung has chosen not to lower the specs all the way down as it adds a good display and a pretty decent processor. However, the Omnia M is not a very striking Windows Phone and its spec sheet, underwhelms when one compares it to the likes of the Nokia Lumia 710 and Samsung’s own Omnia W, both of which feature slightly better specs at lower price points. The device flaunts a 4-inch SuperAMOLED display with a resolution of 800×480 pixels, a 1GHz single-core processor, 384MB of RAM, a 5-megapixel rear camera, a VGA front facing camera, 1500 mAh battery and 4GB of internal memory.
Like all Windows Phone 7.5 smartphones, even the Omnia M will not be eligible for a Windows Phone 8 update. That said, it should hopefully get the Windows Phone 7.8 update considering even the Nokia Lumia 610, which features lower specs, is getting it.
