India is known as a price sensitive market with entry-level and mid-range smartphones seeing good demand. The premium flagship segment has a starting price of around Rs 35,000, and includes smartphones such as Samsung Galaxy Note 9, Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S9 series, and the iPhone X among others. However, OnePlus has captured the most attention in that range, according to a reports by Counterpoint Research and IDC.
BGR India has now learned that an upcoming Samsung smartphone will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC with an octa-core CPU, paired with 6GB of RAM. There is no word on the internal storage or the series of smartphone. The smartphone will come with a 6.3-inch full HD+ Infinity Display, and won’t probably feature a notch like other smartphones. Taking a cue from previous leaks, this device is possibly the Galaxy A8 Star.
In the photography department, the Samsung smartphone is likely to feature a dual camera setup at the back – with a combination of 16-megapixel + 24-megapixel sensors. Up front, a 24-megapixel sensor is expected for selfies and video calling. Lastly, the smartphone is also expected to come armed with a bigger battery similar to the OnePlus 6, along with fast charging feature.
