Earlier this week the folks at SamMobile reported that Samsung is likely to unveil the Orbis smartwatch with a circular display at MWC in March. As reported earlier, the Orbis smartwatch will be powered by Tizen and as mentioned above boasts a circular display. Some of the features include the swipe functionalities on the home screen — swiping up will reveal settings like Bluetooth, brightness and battery, while swiping down will reveal the recent apps. In addition to the swipe gestures, the rotating bezels will be useful for a host of other functions like scroll through recent apps, going through widgets, and notifications among others. Users will also be able to dismiss or snooze alarms, skip music tracks, accept or reject calls, and end active calls, using the ring. The Orbis will set a new tone to Samsung’s existing smartwatch lineup. In addition to being the first smartwatch in the company’s lineup to boast a circular display, the Orbis will also be the first wearable in the portfolio to feature wireless charging.
As mentioned above, Samsung is likely to unveil the smartwatch at its MWC event on March 2. In the same event, the company is also expected to take the wraps off its next flagship device — the Galaxy S6.
