Gift cards provider Qwikcilver has partnered with Samsung to launch a gift card store on Samsung Pay. The partnership will let consumers send, receive, and use gift cards from over 20 brands. The gift card store will be managed end-to-end by Qwikcilver. Obviously, the service is available only for customers who own a Samsung smartphone with support to Samsung Pay. Some of the smartphones that will be open to the new services are Galaxy Note 8, Galaxy S8+, Galaxy S8, Galaxy S7 edge, Galaxy S7, Galaxy S6 edge+, Galaxy J7 Max, Galaxy J7 Prime, Galaxy J7 Nxt, Galaxy J5 Prime, Galaxy J7 2016, Galaxy J7 2015, Galaxy On Max, Galaxy On8, and Galaxy On Nxt to name a few. According to a report by Mint, average load value on Qwikcilver gift cards is around Rs 2,126. The report also mentions that Qwikcilver said that they have fulled the gift card growth in India with 90 percent market share.
Commenting on the partnership, T P Pratap, co-founder, Qwikcilver said, “this would further help to bolster the growth and adoption of digital gift cards of leading brands and retailers, powered by Qwikcilver, across the strong base of Samsung Pay consumers in India. As a company, we have always sought to find disruptive means to scale the gift card category”.
