Samsung is considering suspending operations at one of its smartphone manufacturing facilities in China, a report by Reuters has claimed. Citing Electronic Times, the report mentions declining sales and increasing labor costs as the primary reasons behind the decision. The chaebol might discontinue manufacturing smartphones at the Tianjin Samsung Telecom Technology, its production facility situated in the northern city of Tianjin. While the move is being considered as Samsung s first step towards a (potential) withdrawal from the country, Samsung has said that nothing is decided yet. Speaking of Reuters, the company said, The overall smartphone market is having difficulties due to slowing growth. Samsung Electronics Tianjin telecom enterprise aims to focus on activities that increase competitiveness and efficiency.
Apart from the Tianjin plant, Samsung has another manufacturing facility in China, located in Huizhou city of Guangdong province.
Last week, Samsung launched its much-anticipated Galaxy Note 9 flagship phablet. The device, launched at Samsung s Unpacked 2018 event held in Brooklyn, New York, comes with bigger battery, improved S-Pen features, and much more.
The Galaxy Note 9 has a 6.4-inch QHD+ Super AMOLED display, with a resolution of 1440×2960 pixels and an 18.5:9 aspect ratio. The display also comes with support for HDR10 support.

Powering the Galaxy Note 9 is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC (or Exynos 9810, based on region), paired with 6/8GB of RAM and 128/512GB onboard storage. At the back of the Galaxy Note 9 is a dual-camera system, comprised of two 12MP sensors. There’s also an 8MP front-facing shooter for video calls and selfies. The entire package is backed by a 4,000mAh battery with Quick Charge support. Wireless charging is included in the mix as well.
