Samsung is planning to launch the next version of its in-house virtual digital assistant Bixby along with its upcoming foldable flagship smartphone. The next version of Bixby may be known as Bixby 3.0 but Samsung has not finalized the name according to new information on the internet. The company confirmed this at its developer event that was focused on Bixby in South Korea last month. Vice President of the company, Eui-Suk Chung also addressed the developers at the event. For people who may be unaware about Chung, he is leading the research and development of the software and Bixby in the mobile business division for Samsung.

According to a report by SamMobile, the initial plans about launching Bixby 3.0 along with the foldable smartphone were revealed at the Samsung Developer Conference 2018. Recapping the major developments at the conference, Samsung launched the Bixby Developer Studio along with the Bixby Marketplace. The company also launched a new feature that now allows third-party developers to make features for Bixby that they will share with the help of the marketplace. According to the report, Chung issued a statement adding, “The new Bixby currently in the pipeline will be featured in the foldable smartphone”.

Samsung launched the current version, Bixby 2.0 along with its current flagship smartphone in the market, the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 earlier this year. This comes almost two weeks after the company showcased the foldable smartphone to the world along with One UI.
