Samsung’s flip phones are surely exciting as they boast the latest features along with flagship specifications. Sadly, Samsung keeps its flip phones exclusive to select markets like South Korea and China. The SM-W2018 is possibly next in line succeeding the SM-W2017 launched last November. The SM-W2018’s alleged hands on images have leaked revealing its design. Images claimed to be of the upcoming SM-W2018 were posted on Twitter by MMDDJ_. Like the recently launched SM-G9298, the SM-W2018 also sports a dual-screen design with on the front and the other inside. The lit display shows the Samsung logo along with model number somehow making the renders convincing. Inside, the flip phone sports a design similar to the SM-W2017 with the keypad and navigation buttons.
Up front, the display has thin bezels on the sides except for the thick top chin on top. Antenna lines are also visible on the bottom and side panels. The rear camera is placed with a setup similar to the Galaxy S8 smartphone where the lens sit next to the fingerprint sensor. While the design doesn’t stray too far from Samsung’s flip phones, it can’t be confirmed if the images are indeed genuine. According to past rumors and leaks, the Samsung SM-W2018 is expected to feature two dual 4.2-inch full HD displays. It is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 SoC which would make it indeed a powerful flip phone. The SM-W2018 could come with 4GB or 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. In the photography department, the flip phone is rumored to sport a 12-megapixel rear camera. Up front, it will possibly house a 5-megapixel camera for selfies. The device could be fueled by a 2,300mAh battery. Some reports also suggest an iris scanner on the SM-W2018 for biometric authentication. While there is no official announcement as yet, the SM-W2018 is expected to launch this month. The flip phone is also said to still remain exclusive to the Chinese market.
