Samsung is all set to add two new smartphones in its Galaxy Grand smartphone series by December this year in India. These new phones will be launched as the Galaxy Grand 2 and Galaxy Grand Neo and will succeed the Galaxy Grand and Galaxy Grand Quattro respectively. As expected, both smartphones will sport better features that their predecessors.
Samsung is facing tough competition from Micromax which is gunning for its numero uno position with over 22 percent smartphone market share as against Samsung’s 26 percent in the second quarter of 2013 in India. Also considering that the affordable phablets are picking up in the Indian market, Samsung certainly is trying its best to ensure offering a variety of bigger-screen smartphone options in the low-price device segment.
With these two newbies, Samsung will mainly be competing against the smartphone offerings by local vendors like Micromax among others. However, it is unlikely that Samsung would be able to match the specifications offered by local brands at this price point.
