While the invite doesn’t specifically mention the Z1, Mumbai-based mobile retailer Mahesh Telecom claims that stocks of the smartphone are set to arrive tomorrow. Furthermore, the retailer also claims that the smartphone will be priced at Rs 5,700. At this price point, it will face stiff competition from the Android One smartphones as well as the Moto E and Xiaomi’s popular Redmi 1S. The retailer also revealed the specifications of the device. The Z1 features a 4-inch WVGA (800×480 pixels) PLS TFT display and is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor paired with 768MB of RAM. The smartphone also includes 4GB internal storage, microSD card slot, 3-megapixel rear camera, VGA front-facing camera, and a 1,500mAh battery. As mentioned above, the Z1 has been delayed quite a bit. It was first expected to be launched sometime around Diwali last year. It signals the company’s growing focus towards its own operating system, and thus reducing its dependence on Google’s Android OS.
