In the world of smartphones dominated by Android and iOS platforms, Samsung has been pushing its own Tizen operating system over the past three years. Samsung s Tizen OS is already more popular as a wearable platform compared to Google s Android Wear and Apple s WatchOS. According to a recent report from Strategy Analytics, Tizen OS has overall wearable market share of 19 percent, compared to that of 18 percent of Android Wear. Now, while Tizen OS may not be able to capture the Android smartphone market, Samsung is trying everything to target the affordable segment under Rs 10,000 price bracket. Samsung Z4 Price in India
The Samsung Z4 will be showcased at Tizen Developer Conference between May 16 and May 17, and will be available soon, starting with India. While Samsung did not reveal the pricing, it is expected to be priced under Rs 7,000, and will likely take on Xiaomi Redmi 4A and the Redmi 4 that is set to launch in India soon.
Samsung Z4 specifications and features
The Samsung Z4 features a 4.5-inch WVGA display running at a resolution of 480×800. It is powered by a quad-core chipset clocked at 1.5GHz, but Samsung hasn t specified anything about the chipset model. It is coupled with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. A hybrid SIM card slot is also present, allowing you to use two SIM cards or a microSD card and SIM card.
In the photography department, you get a 5-megapixel rear camera of aperture f/2.2, dual LED flash placed on either sides of the camera. The camera also supports HD video recording (720p at 30fps). Up front, a 5.5-megapixel front-facing camera with LED flash and aperture f/2.2 is also present for selfies and video calling.
Armed with a 2,050mAh battery, connectivity options include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi with VoWiFi, GPS, and 4G LTE with VoLTE. Samsung has also added a few nifty features to Tizen OS 3.0 for easy access. Users can create quick shortcuts to launch camera, torch, alarm, music player and more, without returning to the home screen. Samsung has also worked to optimize the battery life on the smartphone.
