Samsung Galaxy S8 specifications
The Galaxy S8 as per the rumors is said to be available in 5.5-inch and 6.2-inch display variants. While Samsung is said to continue with its dual-curved edge design and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on the Galaxy S8, it is expected to pack a special optical fingerprint sensor layer instead of a physical home button. The Galaxy S8 is rumored to be one of the first smartphones to be powered by a Snapdragon 835 chipset.
On the camera front, the Galaxy S8 is unlikely to have a dual-camera module and is expected to sport a 16-megapixel rear camera along with an 8-megapixel front camera for selfies. The Galaxy S8 however won t be the first smartphone to feature an auto-focus front camera. In the past, HTC Desire 826, Sony Xperia C4, Samsung Galaxy A7 (2016), HTC Desire Eye, and Sony Xperia XA have featured the same too.
Leaks in the past have also suggested that it will come with support for Quick Charging 4.0 that will offer up to five hours of usage or more with just five minutes of charging. The Galaxy S8 is expected to pack a 4,200mAh battery and will continue on the wireless charging feature which was introduced with the Galaxy S6. For connectivity, the Galaxy S8 could come with 4G LTE and VoLTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth, GPS and USB Type-C port. On the software front, the Galaxy S8 could most likely run on Android 7.1 Nougat out-of-the-box. More features for the Galaxy S8 include a fingerprint scanner, an iris scanner, heat rate sensor, water and dust resistance.
The smartphone is expected to debut at the Mobile World Congress, 2017 and could hit the shelves by April 2017.
