As Samsung gears up to launch its next-gen Galaxy Note phablet, the velocity of rumors doesn t seem to slow down. Over this week, we have already come across a couple of reports stating that Samsung will skip the Galaxy Note 6 and launch the Galaxy Note 7 edge instead. A masking component from the production line was also recently spotted on India s import and export site Zauba. Now, according to a tweet from reliable leaker Evan Blass (@evleaks), the next-gen Galaxy Note phablet will be arriving in “almost exactly two months” from now. This means that Samsung could unveil the smartphone in the first week of August, most likely on August 2. Also Read - Samsung Galaxy A22 in pictures: A fancy 5G phone

Besides the approximate release date, we also have the leaked 3D renders of the phablet. According to a tweet by tech journalist Shai Mizrachi (@ShaiMizrachi), the next Galaxy Note phablet will be 153mm in height, 74.5m in width and 7.8mm thick. The dimensions are slightly different from the existing Samsung Galaxy Note 5, which measures 153.2mm in height, 76.1mm in width and 7.6mm thick. He has also shared the 3D render of how the next Note phablet will look like with dual-edge display.

Yet another reliable leaker, @OnLeaks has shared some close-ups of the 3D renders hinting at fine refinements in the design. The next-gen Galaxy Note phablet will be slightly sleek and curvier than the predecessor, just like the case with Samsung Galaxy S7 compared to Samsung Galaxy S6. The camera bump on the Galaxy Note 6 (or Note 7 edge) is also set to be thinner at 0.8mm compared to 1.7mm on the existing Samsung Galaxy Note 5.

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 edge specifications, features: Unlike the Galaxy S-series smartphones with flat and curved display, the next Galaxy Note phablet may only have one curved screen variant. It is expected to sport a 5.8-inch QHD Super AMOLED curved display, and powered by either Samsung s Exynos 8890 chipset or Qualcomm s Snapdragon 823 chipset paired with 6GB of RAM. For those unaware, the Snapdragon 823 SoC is expected to be the exact same as the Snapdragon 820 SoC, albeit the only difference being a slightly faster clock speed.
As Samsung has already started mass production for 256GB memory chips, the top end Galaxy Note 7 edge is likely to be offered with 256GB onboard storage. Other features such as a 12-megapixel dual-pixel rear camera with PDAF, probably with a dual-camera setup are expected. Apple s upcoming iPhone 7 Plus is also likely to include a dual-camera setup at the back.
Just like the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge, the new Galaxy Note 7 edge could also pack IP68 certification for water and dust resistance, an iris scanner and fingerprint scanner, and a large 4,000mAh battery. The next Note phablet is also expected to embrace the USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer. On the software front, Android N with a layer of TouchWiz UI is expected to run out-of-the-box. Purely going by the leaks, it seems like the upcoming Galaxy Note could be an ultimate phablet to look out for.
