Sharp added a new smartphone to its portfolio today. The Sharp Aquos S3 has been released in Taiwan, days after its Mini version was introduced in China. The smartphone is priced at TWD 11,990, which translates to approximately Rs 26,700. One of the highlights of the smartphone is its near bezel-less display with a notch on the top.
The Sharp Aquos S3 also boasts a dual-camera setup, and is touted to be the ‘most compact 6-inch smartphone in the world’. It measures 148.2 x 74.2 x 7.98mm and weighs 165.4g, sogi.com reports. The smartphone will be available starting April 1 in Taiwan. It is unclear if it will be launched in India.
Sharp Aquos S3 specifications
The smartphone packs a 6-inch full-screen display with 18:9 aspect ratio, 135 percent sRGB super wide color gamut, and 550nits high brightness. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 octa-core SoC, paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
For photography, the Sharp Aquos S3 packs dual-camera setup at the back with a combination of 12-megapixel primary sensor and a 13-megapixel secondary sensor with 2X optical zoom, f/1.75 aperture and 6P Lens. Up front, there’s a 16-megapixel sensor with f/2.0 aperture and AI-enabled Portrait Mode support.
It is fueled by a 3,200mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 support. On the software front, it runs Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box with Smile UX layered atop. It also supports Face Unlock feature. Connectivity options include fingerprint sensor, NFC, Bluetooth 5.0, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, GPS/ A-GPS, and GLONASS.
