According to MyDrivers.com, the OnePlus 2 could be launched as early as next month. The company is reportedly planning on hosting a big event next month, where it will take the wraps off its next flagship. It would be a shocking price tag, considering it is less than what the OnePlus One launched at. The forthcoming flagship is also expected to boast a better set of features and build materials. It also contradicts what the company s executives have said before. CEO Pete Lau had taken to the forums to say that a 2,500 Yuan (Rs 26,000 approximately) was a reasonable price tag for the forthcoming flagship. This was also backed by co-founder Carl Pei.
As for specifications, from what we have heard so far, the OnePlus 2 will flaunt a 5.5-inch full HD (1920×1080 pixels) display, and will be powered by a Snapdragon 810 octa-core chipset.
It is also likely to feature 3GB of RAM, Adreno 430 GPU, 16-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel selfie camera, and on the software front, run on Android 5.1 Lollipop (wrapped under Oxygen OS in India/Hydrogen OS in China) out-of-the-box. It will also sport some major changes both in terms of design and hardware.
The company is currently hosting a couple of contests, namely Photo Mania 2015, and Your OnePlus story. As a part of these contests, the three most creative and socially popular ones will get an all paid trip to Hong Kong to see the OnePlus 2 before anyone else. The company has mentioned that the last date for both the contests is on June 15.
