Smartron has today launched a new smartphone in India, called the t.phone P. The smartphone is priced at Rs 7,999, and will go on sale via Flipkart starting January 18. This is the third smartphone from the company.
In line with the teasers, the USP of the t.phone P is it’s a huge 5,000mAh battery. Smartron claims that the battery is good enough to last for more than two days on a single charge. The large battery also supports reverse charging via OTG, which will allow users to use the smartphone as a powerbank to charge other devices. As far as the design is concerned, the smartphone boasts a metal unibody design.

As far as the specifications go, the Smartron t.phone P features a 5.2-inch HD (1280×720 pixels) IPS display protected by a 2.5D curved glass. Under the hood is a Snapdragon 435 octa-core SoC paired with Adreno 505 GPU, and 3GB of RAM. There is 32GB internal storage onboard, which can be expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card. Further, users also get up to 1000GB cloud storage, courtesy of the tronX integration.
For photography, the device is equipped with 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, f/2.2 aperture, and PDAF support. For selfies, there’s a 5-megapixel snapper up front with LED flash, and f/2.2 aperture. There’s also a fingerprint sensor for additional security.
Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots, 4G with VoLTE and ViLTE support, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 4.1. On the software front, the device runs Android Nougat 7.1.1 out-of-the-box.
