Snapdeal Ads is an advertising platform, which will help sellers increase the visibility of their products through ads. These ads will be similar to product listings that you see on Snapdeal, albeit with a small Sponsored Ads banner on top. These will be visible on Snapdeal’s desktop and mobile websites as well as its apps. Also Read - Oppo Reno 2Z now available on pre-order: Price in India, specifications and all you need to know
These sponsored ads will be targeted at users based on their location, interests and buying behavior, and the promoted products will get more visibility than similar non-promoted products. The platform will also let sellers get a return on investment for their advertising campaigns as well as let them measure and monitor their audience, sales and revenue in real-time.
The announcement comes a couple of months after Snapdeal acquired Silicon Valley-based startup, Reduce Data, for an undisclosed sum. The startup had its own programmatic advertising platform for advertising strategies as well as delivering return on investment for advertising campaigns. Snapdeal Ads will be rolled out in phases for more than 200,000 sellers starting next week. Prices for ads start from Rs 1,000.
Snapdeal Ads will strengthen discovery tools on the marketplace, providing multiple touch points for customer-seller engagement, Anand Chandrasekaran, Chief Product Officer, Snapdeal said. The advertising tools will help our over two-lakh strong seller community simplify their business journey and boost overall revenues as more users discover their products.
This isn t the first time Snapdeal has launched a feature dedicated to its sellers. In September, the company launched a SD Advisor program, which essentially provided its sellers with a personal adviser to assist them in business management. These personal advisers provide sellers with market insights, but also help them establish their brand and grow their e-commerce business on Snapdeal.
