Airtel today kicked off 4G LTE trials in Delhi and surrounding NCR. Users there can upgrade their connections by simply heading to an Airtel store and swapping their 3G SIM cards. Not surprisingly, elated users have taken to the social media to show off the bump in their Internet speeds.
Airtel has rolled out services on the 2300MHz TDD-LTE band (Band 40), and is offering 4G prepaid and postpaid plans at the same price as 3G. Nearly everyone has taken to using the Speedtest app to calculate the bump in speed and posted screenshots on social media. These users are getting download speeds ranging between 23.30Mbps and 46.39Mbps, whereas the upload speed is between 4.73Mbps and 5.18Mbps.
Following is a selection of tweets with Speedtest screenshots.
