Someone combined PlayStation 4 and Xbox One into a single machine, and it is awesome!

Xbox One- PlayStation 4

Every once in a while, a geek does something out of curiosity that blows our mind away. Last year we saw someone run Windows 95 on an Android Wear watch, and now we have a 22-inch laptop that combines PlayStation 4 and Xbox One onto a single machine. Made by Ed Zarick, who has previously done a lot of similar work, the gaming machine is called the PlayBox. The PlayBox has both the gaming consoles in one single machine. The left-hand side of the unit is PlayStation 4, while the right-hand side runs the Xbox One. The whole unit, interestingly uses one power cord, and only one gaming console can be run at a time. Both the units, however, have their own Ethernet ports and Wi-Fi chip. “This system took a lot of attempts and reconfiguring to make everything fit and still some things had to be compromised to make the system work, for example it was impossible to get the USB ports on the Xbox to be extended to the outside of the case. But the unit does offer Ethernet ports for both units (WiFi for both units also works), along with HDMI Out.” Zarick notes in a blogpost.

To switch between the consoles, there is a red button on the rear of the machine. Upon clicking on which, the power connection to one console shuts off, and the HDMI automatically adjust to the new signal.

Unfortunately, though, Zarick isn t planning to make more of these or sell the one he has.
