Sony today announced that it has renewed its partnership with cloud storage company Box till the end of 2013. As a part of this deal, all Sony Xperia smartphones and tablet devices will come preloaded with Box integration and users will get 50GB of storage for life once they sign up for the service. Even currently Sony offers 50GB of storage with every Xperia smartphone but there was no clarity about the validity of the storage. With the new deal users get 50GB of storage for life. In comparison, HTC and Samsung have tied up DropBox that offers 25GB and 50GB of storage for the respective companies, but this offer is only valid for two years. Android users can download Google Drive as well, which will add another 5GB of free storage and like most cloud service the user will need to go the paid route for more data. Besides this, there is Microsoft’s SkyDrive service that offers 7GB of free storage. That said, Microsoft offered a free upgrade to 25GB to older Hotmail account users, but that offer has now lapsed.
