According to the company, the PS4 launch in India will match the European launch save for a month or so. The only roadblock could come in the form of unforeseen certification issues, which could further delay the launch of the console. While, yesterday Atindriya Bose was quoted saying the PS4 would launch in India in 2013 itself as he said That s this year , the company has backtracked a little from that stance.
They clarified as there still is no official confirmation on launch date of the PlayStation 4 and said that if it was launched in late December in Europe, it would be logistically impossible for the company to launch the console in 2013 in India, though it would be launched in the early part of 2014.
This is still better than what Microsoft is planning as a recent WSJ report has indicated that the Xbox One will hit Indian shores by the fourth quarter of 2014, which frankly is quite shocking.
Sony, on the other hand has a good track record of bringing its consoles to India while it launches them in Europe. Previously, it achieved the same with the PlayStation Vita handheld, so it is not surprising that PS4 will be launched in India alongside its European launch.
Sony also confirmed that it will be bringing a wealth of content and software when the console is launched, so that users have access to a lot of content.
