Originally unveiled at PhotoKina 2012, the Sony RX1 has launched in India for Rs 1,79,990 at CEIF 2013 in New Delhi. The Sony RX1 is the world’s first point and shoot camera to integrate a 35mm full-frame 24.3- megapixel sensor with a wide f/2.0 aperture fixed-focal lens.
The sensor found in the RX1 is 2.3 times that of the most APS-C sensors found in most DSLRs and it is 7.3 times larger than the company’s own RX100 point and shoot camera. It has a f/2.0 aperture with an ISO setting that goes up to 25,600 and it can also shoot 1080p video at 60fps or 24fps.
Other features of the Sony RX1 include full-frame DSLR like picture quality, a unified lens/body design, full manual control for enthusiasts and professionals. Along with the RX1, Sony is also offering some accessories like an optical viewfinder, an electronic viewfinder and a lockable thumb grip. These products will be sold separately.
