Announced at MWC 2017 earlier this year, Sony has launched the Xperia XA1 Ultra smartphone in India today. The smartphone is priced at Rs 29,990 and will be available across all Sony Center and major electronic stores across India. The smartphone is available in black, white and gold color variants. This is the latest addition to the ‘X-series’ of smartphones. Talking about the smartphone, it comes with a full metal body. Up front, the smartphone comes with borderless design at the sides. The company says that the smartphone is made up of an aluminium side which gives the phone its rich look. At the back, there is a camera module and LED flash placed at the top left corner of the phone. The Xperia branding can be spotted at the center. On the right-hand side, the smartphone comes with a power button, volume rocker and a dedicated camera shutter key at the bottom side of the phone. The smartphone comes sans fingerprint scanner.
On buying the Sony Xperia XA1 Ultra, customers will also get Quick Charger worth Rs 1,490 bundled in the box. They will also be eligible for 3 months of free subscription to Sony LIV. An additional Rs 1,000 off can also be availed on purchase of Xperia XA1 Ultra with Style Cover Stand (SCSG40). Sony has also launched the Style Stand Cover SCSG40 for the Xperia Xa1 Ultra for Rs 3,490. The smartphone comes with 6-inch full-HD edge-to-edge displays. Under the hood, the smartphone comes with an octa-core MediaTek processor and are paired with 4GB of RAM. Also on offer is 64GB of internal storage which can be further be expanded up to 256GB via microSD card.
On the camera front, the Xperia XA1 Ultra comes with a 23-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, phase detection, and laser autofocus and LED flash. On the front, it comes with a 16-megapixel camera with Optical Image Stabilisation. The smartphone is also armed with a 2,700mAh battery. The battery comes with Qnovo Adaptive Charging, STAMINA Mode and Quick Charging, that the company says can charge your phone to 60 percent in 45 minutes. In terms of competition, the smartphone will go take on the likes of OnePlus 5 and Honor 8 Pro, priced at Rs 32,999 and Rs 29,999 respectively. Both the OnePlus 5 and Honor 8 Pro offer much better specification when compared to the Xperia XA1 Ultra. To begin with both the smartphone offer dual camera setup. Apart from that, the smartphones also come equipped with a fingerprint scanner which is missing from the Sony Xperia XA1 Ultra.
