Adding a bunch of new smartphones to its Xperia series, Sony is believed to be working on three new devices across mid-range and flagship price brackets. Succeeding last year’s Xperia L1 and the Xperia XA1, Sony’s Xperia L2, Xperia XA2 and Xperia XA2 Ultra have now been leaked. As per rumors, the devices may be officially unveiled at CES 2018 next week. Leakster @OnLeaks has now published CAD renders of these smartphones giving a glimpse at what they could look like. Sony Xperia L2
Talking about the Xperia L2 first, the renders show the smartphone with a 5.5-inch display, and a 16:9 aspect ratio, measuring 149.9×78.4×9.9mm. The handset is believed to be powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 630 SoC, paired with 4GB of RAM, and it will reportedly be shipped with Android Nougat on board.
Design-wise, the Xperia L2 will feature Sony’s traditional design with respect to the front, however the fingerprint sensor is seen placed at the back, which is a first for a Sony smartphone. Sony smartphones usually have the power button on the side doubling as a fingerprint sensor. The Xperia L2 render also shows the smartphone sporting a single rear camera.
Xperia XA2, XA2 Ultra
As for the Xperia XA2 Ultra, it has been rumored to retain the 6-inch display size and a 16:9 aspect ratio that the Xperia XA1 featured. It is believed to be powered by the Snapdragon 630, along with 4GB of RAM paired and 64GB of internal storage. However, what’s really catchy about the Xperia XA2 Ultra renders, is the dual cameras on the front.
Whereas, the Xperia XA2 will allegedly be much smaller with a 5-inch display, and dimensions of 141.6×70.4×9.6mm. It is believed to be powered by the same chipset as the Xperia XA2 Ultra, with probably slightly lower RAM and/or storage.
