Sony has announced new smartphones — the Xperia X, Xperia XA and X Performance— at the ongoing Mobile World Congress, 2016 in Barcelona. The company also introduced three new devices called Xperia Ear, Xperia Eye and Xperia Projector. The Xperia Ear is a smart Bluetooth headset that can take voice commands, while the Xperia Eye is a wearable camera with voice and face recognition. Full specifications of the new Xperia X haven t been disclosed as yet, but the company says the new devices come with better Xperia camera and battery management features, which will ensure up to two days of battery life. The Xperia X and XA run Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor. The smartphones are said to have an improved design based on Sony s iconic OmniBalance design language. The devices will be available in white, graphite black, lime gold and rose gold. Sony promises to start rolling out the devices in summer this year. The Xperia X Performance is the top end smartphone in the X line up. The smartphone has Snapdragon 820 processor along with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. Common features of the Xperia X smartphones include 5-inch full HD displays, 23-megapixel rear camera with Sony’s Predictive Hybrid Autofocus and a 13-megapixel front facing camera.
Looking at the available specifications and upgraded features, the new Xperia X line up is likely to be the top-end mid range smartphones, giving premium features and design to those who don t want the top end devices under the Xperia Z line up.

Sony has also announced three new accessories. The Xperia Ear, scheduled to launch in summer, recognizes voice commands. The headset will provide users information about the content in the text messages, respond to text messages, take/reject calls, and even notifications about weather and news. The Ear features soft silicone, which Sony says allows users to comfortably wear for full day. It is like having a personal assistant prompting you in the year.
The Sony Xperia Eye is a wearable camera that comes with face recognition and has a wide-angle lens. Full details about the device aren t available as yet. The Xperia Projector allows users to beam the content on your smartphone or tablet on a wall or table, and even understands gestures for tasks.
