VoLTE services are the current gold standard for telecommunications in the Indian market as the world awaits for 5G technology to roll out in coming years. Regardless of the rush to 5G outside the country, Indian telecom providers are busy increasing the number of devices that can support their VoLTE services. The rat race to VoLTE protocol started back when Reliance Jio came out of the blue with VoLTE-based telecommunication services. Ever since then, other telecom providers including Airtel, Vodafone, and Idea have been playing catch up with Jio to expand their VoLTE services.
Amidst this race of expanding VoLTE services to both the latest devices in the market to new cities and towns, a new report revealed that Asus Zenfone 5Z and Sony Xperia XZ2 are the latest flagship smartphones in the market to support VoLTE services by Vodafone. According to a report by TelecomTalk, both these devices received the support in their recent software updates. The report points out that with these two devices, Vodafone currently supports VoLTE on 122 devices in India.

The Vodafone VoLTE report comes right after Airtel revealed that the company supports its VoLTE services on 200 devices in India. Comparing the number of devices that support VoLTE services, the report notices that Vodafone supports a significantly large number of devices when compared to the devices that Idea VoLTE currently supports.
However, all telecom players in the Indian market fall short of the number of devices in the market that currently support Reliance Jio VoLTE services. The report goes on to note that other devices that recently received the support for Vodafone VoLTE include Honor Play, Infinix Smart 2, and the Samsung Galaxy Note 9.
