After a number of leaks and speculations surrounding the Sony Xperia Z Ultra expected to get unveiled on July 4 in Paris, another set of photos being claimed as official renderings has surfaced on web. The folks at ePrice have got their hands on what looks like press shot of the phablet, which follows the Xperia Tablet design language but in a slightly smaller form factor. Apart from resistance from water and dirt, another interesting part of the device would be the support for a pencil instead of a regular stylus to be used to interact with the phablet. The Sony Xperia Z Ultra has been rumored to support pencil support, and the picture further indicates the same. Well, it looks like the phone will be compatible with non-capacitive stylus as well. The screen is also expected to be compatible with gloves and sweaty fingertips, just like the ones found on some of Nokia’s Lumia smartphones.
In another photo leak the phablet is being compared with two other devices to show the size difference with others. Features-wise, the Xperia Z Ultra is believed to feature either a 6.21-inch screen with 1080p resolution with 320PPI or the 6.44-inch Triluminos display rumored earlier. It is likely to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor, clocked at 2.3GHz and accompanied by a Adreno 330 GPU, and there will be 2GB of RAM to boot. The phablet might come with 16GB of internal storage and will be supplemented by a microSD card. Talking about the software, it will be running on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
Apart from all this, Sony is also expected to unveil its Smart Watch at Mobile Asia Event 2013 in Shanghai today.
