The device was spotted by Xperia Blog on a leaked document allegedly belonging to Japanese operator NTT DoCoMo. According to the document, the Xperia Z1 f is said to have most of its older sibling’s specs and features fit into a compact package. It features a smaller 4.3-inch Triluminos 720p display, but retains the 2.2GHz Snapdragon 800 processor and the 20.7-megapixel camera. This explains why the device in the photo looks a bit thicker than the Xperia Z1. Also Read - God of War Ragnarok delayed until 2022: Here's why
Other features likely to be included are 16GB internal storage, 2GB of RAM, 2.2-megapixel secondary camera at the front and a 2,300mAh battery. It is also said to be IP55/IP58 certified, which makes it dust and water resistant. Sony will be offering multiple color variants including bright pink and neon yellow in addition to the usual black, white and purple. It’s difficult to say if all the above leaked specs are true. But if they are, then the Xperia Z1 mini aka Xperia Z1 f will be a beast of a machine hiding under a compact body. There’s no word on any launch timeline, but we won’t be surprised if we were to hear more about the device in the coming weeks.
